It is January 3rd, and I am still thinking about all of the wonderful adult horror books (and a few YA) I read in 2023. I've compiled a list of the ten books that I think are the must reads. These books will surely keep you up all night!
The September House by Carissa Orlando
A wonderful horror comedy by debut author Carissa Orlando. Perfect for fans of Ghosts one CBS & BBC.
The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas
A horrific and haunting historical fiction that takes place in Mexico.
My Darling Girl
A Christmas Story of Possession.
How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix
Thankfully puppets can't actually come alive... Or can they?
You're Not Supposed to Die Tonight by Kalynn Bayron
A final Girl story that involves a Haunted Attraction camp! Can't wait to read more from this author! This one isn't technically adult, but I thinks SO many would enjoy this one.
101 Horror Books to Read Before You're Murdered by Sadie Hartmann
A work of non-fiction that made my TBR grow tenfold.
Mister Magic by Kiersten White
Felt like a fever dream where Nope met a Disney show from the 90's.
The Gathering Dark: An Anthology of Folk Horror by Tori Bovalino
A collection of amazing folk horror stories that will keep you out of the woods.
Camp Firwood by Boris Bacic
Glad I never went to summer camp.
Nestlings by Nat Cassidy
Salem's Lot meets Rosemary's baby is a very accurate description! I won't be moving to a gothic apartment anytime soon...
