This was a phenomenal book and I think my favorite read so far this year! In the Hacienda we follow Beatriz as she moves to her husband’s property Hacienda San Isidro and realizes that things here are not what they seem. Once her husband Rodolfo leaves for the capital Beatriz’s life at San Isidro takes a terrifying turn and she no longer feels safe. She enlists the help of Padre Andrés and together they try to fight against the darkness as allies. Will this house ever be the sanctuary Beatriz was hoping for?
I can’t believe this was Isabel’s debut full length novel! It was amazing from beginning to end. The gothic atmosphere, the thriller aspects, strong female characters, and an extremely hot priest were all highlights for me.
The audiobook narrator was fantastic, and it felt immersive.
