Review

I listened to this on my morning walk this morning, and like other reviews I have seen, I have mixed feelings.

🖤What I liked🖤

- The writing is beautiful. It uses many metaphors, but they didn't take me out of the story.

- The descriptions of gore, the back from the dead bride, and her companions were very vivid and terrifying.

- The setting was incredible. A moldy and decaying manor in rural Japan, need I say more?

💀What I didn't like💀

While I typically love a dumb 20-somethings get drunk in a house and wake an angry spirit kind of story, there was too much drama for me. They all hate each other yet are friends all at the same time. The book focused a lot on the drama between them rather than the horror aspects of the story. In the end, I didn't care if any of the characters lived or died.
